My upstairs office refresh is well underway. The desk (the one new piece of furniture for the room!) is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I am anxiously anticipating unboxing it and putting it together. If it arrives in time I am betting it will be our Friday night activity. We really know how to party.
We’ve been trying to bring some new meals into our regular rotation, with one new recipe per week. This week we made pork bahn mi sliders and they were fantastic. It took us longer than the 22 minutes suggested to make the recipe, but they were worth it. The quick pickled slaw and tasty pork got us in the mood for spring. These sliders will definitely be a part of our spring and summer meal plans.
Any other midwesterners experience a glass shattering moment when you realized that ‘ope’ is not just a normal part of speech, but something you say all.the.time? I certainly did. Fortunately we learned the rules of ope so we can be sure we are using it properly. We’ve become a little self conscious about saying ope – but its one of those things that is built into our every day speech. Regional dialects are funny.
We’ve been talking a lot about organization recently and one thing we know could use some attention is our refrigerator. We also learned why its called a refrigerator vs. a fridgerator – but this post from Wit & Delight on refrigerator organization is providing some motivation to get our refrigerator organization system dialed in. Our pantry could use some attention too, one step at a time.
Other things that caught my eye this week:
With the office refresh on my mind I ordered a few things to make sure that everything is up to my organized and tidy standards, since my current desk is not. Tangled and visible cords are my nemesis. Hoping cable clips, an under desk cable tray (!!), and reusable cord ties will make my desk function that much better.
I’m glad that Nathan hasn’t seen this job posting.
I like this idea of overlaying brick onto a front porch, might be a fun project to tackle this fall.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
