It’s peony season and we rearranged our living room into a new layout we are loving a few weeks ago. That makes me one happy person.
May was filled with Mother’s Day, Nathan’s birthday, and a family road trip to Nashville! It’s the most consecutive “bigger” things we have done outside of our home in over a year. It has felt good to get out and do things, while still feeling safe.
Our road trip to Nashville was so much fun and so exhausting at the same time! It’s an 8 our drive from Kansas City – the way down we took it slow and stopped along the way to hike and on the way back we tried to get back as fast as traveling with a baby allowed (stops to feed/eat/change, etc.). Nathan’s family rented a house in the country outside of Nashville with a pool and chickens and we all just relaxed and enjoyed family time. It was much needed. We ventured into downtown Nashville for our last night of the trip and one night was enough with a baby. Downtown is very fun, but it is really loud (lots of music!) so not ideal for small children. We are glad we saw it and would love to go back someday. We have committed to ourselves that we will travel with Leo, no matter how different it might be. Seeing new experiences through his eyes is just the best. It makes exhaustion from traveling with a baby worth it. One road trip down, one (maybe two!) more this summer!
I’m not participating in the One Room Challenge this spring, but I am definitely following along with those who are ! So many talented designers and DIYers! It’s really fun to watch spaces completely transform in 8 weeks. My friend Robyn is renovating her dining room for the challenge. She’s adding a wall mural AND wallpaper. Her pattern mixing skills are top notch. She’s one of my favorite people to follow and such a sweet friend.
Ashley is in the process of doing a nursery for her baby on the way and the wallpaper she chose for the room is incredible.
I have dealt with neck and back pain on and off for years and am prone to getting migraines related to neck pain. I have tried so many pillows for my neck and none of them have been the one. Not to mention regular chiropractic care, essential oils, massage, and massive diet changes – all of which help some. After hearing Deema and Hannah rave about this pillow I decided to try it for myself. Other things I do help my neck (I love my chiropractor), but could my pillow be causing me more harm than good? Two weeks in and my neck has been pain free. If this keeps up I am not exaggerating when I say this pillow will have truly changed my life. TBD.
With summer weather finally creeping in I have had summer recipes on the brain. I love a good broccoli salad. Gimme’ Some Oven recipes are always a hit in our house so I’m excited to try Ali’s take on the classic salad I grew up loving. I already bought the ingredients and it’s on our meal plan for the week.
Weekend well!
