Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We hosted both of our immediate families and it was a lot of fun! I made a pumpkin mousse as one dessert and everyone was so full from the meal that hardly any of the dessert was touched. Lucky for me that means I’ve been eating pumpkin mousse every day! … along with turkey, cornbread stuffing, and about 6lbs of extra mashed potatoes. Planning for 11 people is not our strength, we almost always make way too much!
We decked our halls last weekend and my theme was simple, warm, and cozy decor. Lots of faux fur and velvet. I made a DIY modern hoop wreath that I love so much! I know it will be something I use year to year.
These are the sweetest custom ornaments for pet parents. They ship quickly too so there’s still time to get them before Christmas. I would love one of these for each of my doggies.
Shea is doing a month of December home purge to prep her house for the holidays. I have loved following along and I got caught up on week 1 this past weekend! It’s such a great way to make your house and mind feel a little lighter during the bustle of the holiday season. It’s inspiring me to look at the things around our house a bit differently. I am definitely not a minimalist, I probably fall more into the essentialism category, but I am all about less. Less clutter is less to care for and helps keep my mind from feeling like it’s cluttered. I want to find everything in my home to be either useful or beautiful, or both. A drawer full of 6 year old spices are not useful or beautiful – yes we had spices from when we first got married that have now been moved twice. They didn’t make the purge cut.
Do you ever gift experiences? Nathan and I have talked about gifting each other experiences this year. We may go see a movie and go out to a nice dinner. It sounds simple, but we don’t do it nearly often enough and we know it will be special to us.
Sarah’s $300 laundry room makeover has my jaw on the floor! She works magic in all her designs and I loved seeing what she accomplished on a tight budget.
Hope you had a great weekend!
