Welcome to The Friday 5 for this week where I share interior design ideas, home decor inspiration, DIY, and organization tips and tricks… and really anything else as it comes to mind!
ONE
Faux eucalyptus leaves are a great way to add some texture and natural elements to your decor. I have been searching for some that don’t break the bank. Ikea now carries a version that look pretty decent online at least. For $4 I think I will have to give them a try.
TWO
My friend Christene from Keys to Inspiration recently posted about this autumn simmer pot that I feel like I can smell through the screen. It’s a such great (and natural) alternative to burning a candle!
THREE
Natural beauty and household products is a topic that has been on my mind a lot recently. We try to eat pretty clean and healthy, but then turn around and use harsh chemicals on our skin and for cleaning around the house, which really doesn’t make sense. Recently, we are making an effort to slowly switch over all of our household cleaning and personal hygiene products to non-toxic versions. I have been using coconut oil as a make-up remover and night time moisturizer on my face for a while now and have been wanting to switch my day time moisturizer to something natural as well. Yes, the concept of putting oil on your face seems counter productive, especially if like me, you are fighting to keep the amount of oil production on your face down. But really, truly I think this has saved my face! My oily skin is not really oily anymore and my acne has significantly decreased in the past few months.
This recipe by Simply Quinoa fits a lot of my criteria for a good day time moisturizer (both anti-acne and anti-aging because this girl still gets acne and has newly developed wrinkles… such as life!). I think am going to test it out!
FOUR
This kitchen remodel by House of Jade Interiors is beyond stunning. The color of the island, the two different island counter styles, and the unexpected and unique hood really pull me in!
FIVE
We recently created DIY large scale art for our fireplace and I love it so much. I wrote a post about it here where you can learn how to do it yourself!
Have a great weekend friends!
