The Adored Abode

The upstairs office is done!! For now, because is a room ever really done? Our house is always evolving with the changes of our life and I think that’s the way it should be. I now have a workspace that feels quite relaxing and calming to me, which is so nice when my day job gets a little hectic. It’s quiet too because I have a door now! Our office space downstairs that I was previously using is more of a den and doesn’t have a door. This is a major upgrade for me because I don’t work well when it’s noisy.

For this refresh I tried to mostly use what I already had and added in a few new pieces, with a focus on thrifting or DIYing!

Before & After

We added a rug, curtains, switched up the artwork, got a new desk and moved up my rolling office chair! Along with a few DIYs; the pleated lampshade, monitor stand and the fluted desk lamp. Nothing major and all cosmetic changes, but it makes such a difference! The darker paint color makes the room feel a little cozier.

My dad made me this leaning bookshelf and I love displayed a few of my favorite things on it.
