Pretty Pet Supplies - The Adored Abode

It’s no secret I am a dog lover. Many of you know we have two dogs who truly are the center of our lives. Yes, we are crazy pet parents and I’m not ashamed!

We know our dogs live pretty comfortable lives and are pretty spoiled. In case you are wondering, yes, they are allowed on furniture… and to let you in a on a not-so-secret, they do sleep in bed with us too. This was a habit we tried desperately to break, but our German Shorthaired Pointer, Susse, is one stubborn and sneaky dog that will do anything to get under the covers. Pete, our Chocolate Lab mix, just does whatever Susse does, including sleeping in bed. In fact he is quite fond of it now, as you can imagine.

We may pampers our pups, but that doesn’t mean that I want my house to scream “dog”. I try very hard to keep our home as free of dog hair and dog smell as possible so that if you came in our front door you wouldn’t know two dogs live here if they weren’t greeting you at the door (it’s not always the case, but I try). Along the same lines, I want the dog supplies we have and use everyday to blend in with the rest of our home decor.

I’ve rounded up a few pet pretty pet supplies that could blend in with many decor types. You can shop the items via the numbered links below.

Dog Beds

I try to think outside the box when it comes to dog beds. For example #1 is truly a floor cushion, but could function as a dog bed as well and looks very cute – we have similar floor cushions that the dogs lay on in the living room. #4 is a dog pillow cover that you can buy a separate insert for and this is probably my favorite of the bunch – stripes + removable cover = cute + functional! #2 and #3 are more traditional style dog beds, but still pretty in my book.

Dog Bowls

When we refinished our laundry room/pantry/dog room as part of the One Room Challenge I created a raised dog feed station with these shelf inserts. I added hammered gold bowls on top (they no longer sell the gold, but #10 is the copper version, #6 is a close alternative if you want gold!). I received a bit of flack from certain family members because I bought gold dog bowls, but I love them so I don’t care. #8 is a semi-raised dish. #5, #7, and #9 are pretty ceramic dishes. With dog bowls I like to either get ones that have rubber coated bottoms or are on the heavier side so the dogs don’t move them around and knock them over as easily.

Treat Jars & Food Containers.

I like to keep the dog treats on the counter for convenience, but that means I also prefer the treats to be in a pretty canister! The exact jars we have are no longer sold, but #17 and #18 are similar. I love #16 and #19 as well, especially because they are not clear and are what I consider “hidden storage”. We have a similar food container to #14 and we love it. While it is not the prettiest it is very functional and I dressed it up with a gold label.

Miscellaneous

I wish I had looked harder for tags for our dogs, we just went with the make your own version at the pet store. Now, I would probably go for #11, but #12 is cute too.

I have been on the lookout for a treat/poo bag holder for when I take the dogs on walks since I don’t always have pockets, especially in the warmer months – #13 is a cute option that could hook right to the leash!

Our dogs are big chewers, especially Susse, and destroy any plush toy that comes their way by ripping out all of the stuffing and leaving the fabric scraps. Pete loves the leftover fabric scraps and entertains himself endlessly by tossing them around the living room. #15 is an adorable toy that would for sure get destroyed, but at least it would be a cute scrap of fabric that I would find laying in random places!

I hope you enjoyed this post, especially if you are a dog lover like me!
