There’s only two weeks left of the One Room Challenge, how can that be? It feels like we just started on in yesterday.
We finished installing the plank walls and trim. We decided on stool moulding to cap off the top of the plank wall since we only went 3/4 up the wall. We looked at different ideas for how to cap of the plank walls with trim and what I was initially envisioning wasn’t in stock at our local Home Depot, so we walked down the moulding aisle until we found one we both liked. This is the base trim we installed in the bathroom and is also the trim we are installing throughout our house.
We chose to complete the inside corners with quarter round and the one outside corner with corner moulding for a more finished look since our cuts were definitely not perfect.
Everything has been caulked and the nail holes have been patched. Now we just need to sand everything down and we will be ready for primer and paint! Our goals is to get everything painted this weekend so we can install the sink and toilet.
I found these awesome floor vents, that were on sale a month or so ago, for all of the vents on the main level of our house. The vent in our bathroom is very skinny (12″x2″) and I unfortunately could not find the same style in this size so I went with this style of floor vent cover for the bathroom in the same Antique Bronze finish (they read much less bronze-y in person). I love how it contrasts against our darker floors! Our house actually had nearly identical vents in the kitchen and laundry room that were nearly 40 years old and really gross, so I thought it was fitting that were were bringing back some of the original flair the house had.
Stay tuned next week for a painted bathroom with at least a toilet and sink installed, hopefully.
Be sure to check out all the progress the other awesome participants have made!
