It’s been quieter here on the blog than I hoped in the first few weeks, but I have to give myself a break because we have had a lot going on recently. Shortly before I planned to launch this blog we also decided to sell our house. We wanted to find ourselves an older house that needed a little love, a house that we could really make our own. Our first house was new construction and while it was a wonderful house, we knew we did not see our selves there much longer. We felt the time in our life was right to embark on this journey of finding a home to renovate. We made our decision and listed our house for sale. The whole process happened MUCH faster than we ever anticipated, both selling our old house and finding our new house, which made this past month feel like a whirlwind.
The first time we walked through our new house we fell in love. It felt like home almost immediately. The house checked more boxes on our “wish list” than we could ever have imagined. We love the layout, the neighborhood, the yard, and all of the potential. The house has been very well maintained, but the cosmetic surfaces are… dated. We are finally moved into our the new house (sort of). Most of our belongings are stashed in the basement, garage, and upstairs bedrooms because we have big plans for this house, starting with the main level. First up on our list of projects includes scraping the popcorn ceilings, painting, and new flooring. We plan to take our time with the renovation process to make sure we get it right.
I can’t wait to share our journey with you!
