Welcome to The Friday 5 for this week where I share interior design ideas, home decor inspiration, DIY, and organization tips and tricks… and really anything else as it comes to mind!
ONE
I have the One Room Challenge on the brain lately. Ashley from The Gold Hive is hand painting a mural in her office for the challenge and it is turning out so beautifully! I mean look at it, just stunning! She has some major patience for bringing the mural to life! I love her style and she always has very detailed tutorials on how you can recreate DIYs yourself. She is definitely one to follow.
TWO
I think we are hosting Thanksgiving this year and it has me in a “must get dining room done” mentality… add it to the list. We currently have this wooden bead chandelier World Market (which I think is very pretty), but we also recently got a much bigger dining room table – a $25 thrift find!! Our new table is a much different style than our previous table, which was more farmhouse style. I think I would like a little bit more of a modern style light fixture in the room now that I actually know which direction I am going in. This one from Wayfair has really caught my eye. I love that it is more modern, while still have classic touches, the only problem is it is quite a bit more than I was hoping to spend. It is currently on sale, which is the only reason I am even considering it, but it’s still pricey.
THREE
It’s voting time for the Domino design blog awards. There are so many good ones out there. Like one of all-time favorite blogs: Chris Loves Julia. I also wanted to give a shout out to one of my other favorites Room for Tuesday. Sarah’s blog and style are a frequent source of inspiration for me. If you are a blog reader you should definitely vote (you can vote once a day on multiple devices) so it’s a great way to show bloggers you follow some love.
FOUR
Is it too early to start thinking about Christmas? I don’t think so. It’s only a month away. Eeeeek. I went to Hobby Lobby recently and I saw this faux fur tree skirt that I had to have. I’ve never had a “real” tree skirt, I have just used fabric remnants in the past, which worked just fine, but when I saw that this one was only going to be $20 (they were 50% at the time) I jumped on it. Similar to the one from Pottery Barn but for much less as in over $100 less. They are currently $24 if you want one yourself! I don’t know about you, but I am all about getting the name brand look for less.
FIVE
In case you missed it I am having a dilemma about what to do with the laundry room floor that I recently painted and stenciled for the One Room Challenge. You can catch up on my dilemma here. Do I keep it as is? Do I Paint it a solid color? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Happy Friday, friends!
